Ondo 2020: SDP D-Gov Candidate Dumps Fasua, Akeredolu, Declares Support For Jegede

The Ondo State Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the October 10 election, Chief Mrs. Rachel Ajayi has dissociate herself from the decision of her Principal, Peter Fasua as she announces her decision to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, in the Saturday poll.

Ajayi, in a statement made available to Newsmen in Akure said she has decided to pitch her tent with the decision of her Party to support the PDP during the election.

Recall that the only Rep Member of the party, Tajudeen Adefisoye representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency has on Monday made an open declaration to support Governor Akeredolu’s re-election bid with his supporter at his country home in Idanre.

Mrs Ajayi also distanced herself from the position taken by the Governorship candidate of the SDP, Prince Peter Oyeleye Fasua to support Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN.

Her press statement reads:

I STAND WITH EYITAYO JEGEDE TO WORK FOR PDP.

The Deputy Governorship candidate of SDP, Chief Mrs Rachel Ajayi has distanced herself from the position taken by the Governorship candidate of SDP, Prince Peter Oyeleye Fasua.

“I am a party person and I queue behind any position taken by my party and its leadership. The party has decided to support the Peoples Democratic Party as relayed by our State Chairman, Prince Dele Ogunbameru and that is ok by me. Fasua has never called me for once and he has not been carrying the party along in all his programme. Everything about him is business, he is not prepared for this election and he has always been acting as an agent of the APC as revealed even during the governorship debate.

To me, he should have contested under the APC.

“They party is supreme and we are candidates sponsored by the party since we are not independent candidates. I do not support any activities that will undermine the supremacy of the party”.

Irrespective of the position of anybody, the party is supreme and I strongly believe in the leadership of the State Chairman of our party, Prince Oladele Olugbemi Ogunbameru
