Osun 2026: ‘No-Party’ Adeleke Chasing Shadows, APC Chieftain, Muideen, Mocks Osun Governor After Supreme Court Judgement On LG Chairmen

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Prince Abdulrasheed Muideen, PKA Romeo, has hailed the Supreme Court judgment affirming the full three-year tenure of elected local government chairmen in Osun state, declaring that the ruling has finally “ended the era of executive intimidation and caretaker dictatorship” in the state.
Speaking in Abuja during a media briefing, the Olorunda-born prince said the apex court’s decision has not only restored constitutional order to the grassroots but has also politically isolated Governor Ademola Adeleke, whom he described as “a party orphan governor” following his dramatic resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Prince Abdulrasheed argued that Adeleke’s exit from the PDP, weeks after bankrolling what he called the “illegal and jamboree Ibadan PDP convention,” shows a governor “running on political fumes and drowning in desperation” ahead of the 2026 governorship race.
“It’s so unfortunate what Osun people are getting under the poor leadership style of Governor Adeleke. This is a governor, who is less concerned about development or the wellbeing of the people, but rather globe-trotting and dancing in every country of the world,” he told reporters.
He claimed the governor spent billions in public funds on the Ibadan convention only to abandon the party he financed, insisting the Supreme Court verdict has now stripped Adeleke of all political cover going into the final stretch of his tenure.
“With this judgment, the governor can no longer intimidate or dissolve elected council structures. Local government autonomy has come to stay, and that is why I congratulate Osun APC and all LGA chairmen for their steadfastness,” he said.
Abdulrasheed, who is also a House of Representatives aspirant, maintained that Adeleke’s alleged mismanagement of state resources and absence of “any commemorative development” would guarantee his defeat in the 2026 poll.
“I will advise the governor to start preparing his handover note now because it is obvious Osun people will reject him totally. Look around the state, there is nothing to justify the federal allocation, nothing to show for the IGR. Osun is at a standstill,” he declared.
He further mocked Adeleke’s current political status, saying no member of the Osun House of Assembly followed him out of the PDP.
“As it stands today, Governor Adeleke is the only political party orphan governor in Nigeria. Imagine a sitting governor without a platform. It is an indication that he has been rejected by all—including those in the legislature who refused to follow him into political oblivion,” he added.
The APC stalwart said the Supreme Court ruling has finally “returned power to the grassroots and curtailed the culture of executive impunity,” insisting that the judgment will reshape Osun’s political landscape ahead of next year’s battle for the governorship.
