Our Members Are Intact; Defection To APC, Nothing But Mere Propaganda – ZLP
By Deji Adebayo, Akure
The Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Ondo state has said the purported move of some members of the Party to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is not true.
The Publicity Secretary of ZLP, Mr. Felix Olatunde in a statement made available to newsmen on Monday said the Party had acknowledged the exit of the mentioned two members, Mr. Abayomi Adebayo and Femi Ikoyi has exit the party since March this year, and the party has wished them well when they decided to formed a Political group.
The statement reads:
The announcement of resignation of two former members of our party, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) in Ondo state, Abayomi Adebayo and Femi Ikoyi, has been brought to our notice.
We say without any iota of doubt that the persons involved have willingly and publicly resigned their membership of our party.
They therefore could not have acted and cannot act for or on behalf of our party as they have since formed a different group and aligned themselves with peoples of their choice.
As we said in March 2020 when they made their resignation public, there is free entry and free exit in all political formations.
We wish them well in their party but insist that they ceased from being our members more than six months ago.
Signed:
Felix Olatunde
Publicity Secretary
