2023: APC Youth, Women Leaders, Landmark’s Allies, Others Defect To PDP In Ondo East

Some notable leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bolorunduro, Ondo East Council Area of Ondo state, have led over hundred of its members to join the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), over the weekend.
Hon. Bankole Akinsehinwa, who is one of the leaders and a strong ally of the incumbent APC House of Assembly member for Ondo East, Hon. Oladiji Adesanmi (Landmark), spoke on behalf of the decampees and said members of the party are tired of many failed promises of the APC in the state in general and Ondo East/West in particular.
According to him, “Nothing they have ever promised has been fulfilled. From the federal government to state and Ondo East/West federal constituency, APC has inflicted untold hardship on millions of Nigerians and it is time to rescue the country”
He said the party, its leadership and candidates invested time and other resources in propaganda rather than tackling the real issues of insecurity, poor economy, collapsed education, comatosed healthcare, among others.
The defectors numbering over one hundred comprised of some respected elders, leaders within the youth and women wings and founding members of APC in Ondo East.
“Our members are continuously being told to promote the party without anything to show for it. The masses are suffering, there is hunger in the land and we can no longer continue. We are here to work for the PDP and its candidates”. Akinsehinwa said
Receiving the decampees, PDP Chairman in Ondo East, Hon. Ayo Akinwande, assured them of the party’s commitment to the development of Ondo Kingdom and the state in general
He said, “We have good products in PDP to market to the masses and it is a complete team. Starting from Ondo Central Senatorial candidate, Ife Adedipe SAN, Ondo East/West House of Reps candidate Dr. Felix Kehinde (DFK) and Ondo East House of Assembly candidate Hon. Femi Olafusi (Omo Ilo) including Hon. Tomide Akinribido and Akinola Akinjiyan, its candidates for House of Assembly in Ondo West constituencies 1 and 2 respectively. These are reliable political leaders who can be trusted to bring meaningful development to Ondo kingdom and her people”
Hon. Siji Akindiose, former House of Assembly member and chairman House committee on Information, congratulated the defectors for seeing the light as he said the PDP in Ondo East/West remains unbeatable.
The event had in attendance some bigwigs and members of PDP in the local government.
