Osun Election: Vote Competence, Not Religion, Osun Clergy Charges Christians, Endorses AMBO

The Presiding Prophet of Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Ibudo Asegun, Ilesa, Osun State, Prophet Dare Falola Emmanuel, has urged Christians in the state not to allow religious considerations to influence their choice of candidate in the August 15 governorship election, insisting that competence should come before faith.

The cleric made the appeal on Sunday during a church service attended by the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), and his running mate, Kayode Adereti.

Addressing the congregation, Prophet Emmanuel said God could choose anyone, irrespective of religious affiliation, to occupy positions of authority, urging Christians to support candidates they believe are capable of delivering good governance.

“Don’t be deceived by religious differences. God can place anybody in a position of authority. If God wishes, He can put a Muslim there. Open your eyes. If we see a fellow Christian who is not doing well and we see someone who is better than him, we will support him,” he said.

The cleric also declared his support for the APC ticket, calling on members of the church to vote for Oyebamiji and Adereti in the August 15 governorship election.
“I implore you, children of God, in the name of God, on August 15, vote for AMBO and Kayode,” he told the congregation.

According to him, the APC candidates possess the capacity to address the challenges facing the state, particularly in education and workers’ welfare.

He lamented the condition of public schools in the state, expressing optimism that the APC flag bearer would rehabilitate educational facilities and ensure prompt payment of pension entitlements to retirees if elected.

“You can see the dilapidated schools. The best candidates you can vote for, who will repair the waste places of this state, make our schools habitable again and ensure our parents receive their pensions promptly, are AMBO and Kayode,” he said.
