APC Support Groups Seek Partners, Funding as 2027 Campaign Structures Take Shape

The Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators is seeking partnerships and sustainable funding to strengthen its grassroots structures and programmes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The coalition made the request on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, when its national executive members visited Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of the National Assembly Library Trust Fund and Deputy Director of Protocols, APC Presidential Campaign Council, in Abuja. The information was contained in a statement signed by Sophina Ovuike, National Director, Media and Publicity, Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators.
The delegation, led by the coalition’s National Convener, Comrade Richard M. Onyebuwa, presented its objectives and sought guidance on building relationships with relevant stakeholders. Onyebuwa said the coalition was established to provide a coordinated platform for APC support groups and their national coordinators to strengthen grassroots structures and improve coordination among member organisations.
Nwawuba advised the coalition to develop a credible and sustainable framework, stressing the importance of strategic relationships and partnerships. He also advised it to identify legitimate and sustainable sources of funding for its programmes and organisational activities.
Nwawuba expressed support for efforts connected with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election campaign and encouraged the coalition to explore collaboration with the Tinubu Support Group, chaired by Hon. James Abiodun Faleke. He said cooperation among established support structures could create opportunities for greater coordination and organisational development.
Hon. AlHassan Mohammed Baba, National Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Coalition of APC Support Groups National Coordinators, thanked Nwawuba for receiving the delegation and said the coalition would consider the guidance and observations made during the meeting.
The coalition said the engagement formed part of its efforts to strengthen relationships with stakeholders and develop a coordinated network of APC support group leaders across the country ahead of the 2027 political season.
