BREAKING: Buhari Appoints Maj. Gen Yahaya As New COAS

President Muhammadu Buhari has announced the appointment Major General Farouk Yahaya as the new Chief of Army Staff.

Major General Yahaya will replace Lt Gen Ibrahim Attahiru who died in a plane crash on Friday, May 21, 2021 in Kaduna

A statement issued by the Acting Director, Defence Information, Brig-Gen Onyema Nwachukwu reads that Major General Farouk Yahaya, before his appointment, was the General Officer Commanding 1 Division of the Nigerian Army and incumbent Theatre Commander of the Counter-Terrorism Counter Insurgency military outfit in the North East, code-named Operation HADIN KAI.
