Deji Adebayo, Abuja

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has today Friday granted bail to Senator Ali Ndume, who was remanded in Kuje Correctional Centre, Abuja on Monday for failing to produce Alhaji Abdulrashed Maina, former Chairman of the Pension Reformed Task Team (PRTT), for who he stood surety.

Recall, Ndume, who is representing Borno South Senatorial District in the Red chamber, was remanded in the prison custody on Monday after the court found that Maina has jumped bail.

In a ruling delivered by Justice Okon Abang, said, he was exercising the court’s discretionary power in favour of Ndume based on his good conduct in the course of the trial of Maina, who is being prosecuted for allegedly laundering about N2billion.
