BREAKING: Ondo State Government Upgrades Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo To A University

The Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo has been upgraded to Ondo State University, Owo, by the Ondo State Government.

The upgrade was announced by Princess Oladunni Odu, Secretary to the State Government, at a meeting on Tuesday with stakeholders of the Polytechnic as well as High Chiefs from Owo and Isuada communities.

The new Ondo State University is expected to admit students during the 2024/2025 academic session.

Daily Metro News NG reliably gathered that the current Polytechnic education system of the school will be co-exist with the new University structure until it is phased out.

A source at the meeting told our Correspondent that, “The polytechnic Governing Council, management team, Deans of Faculties , High Chiefs representing, Owo, Isuada and Ondo State senior government officials headed by Oladuni Odu attended.”
