Gov. Aiyedatiwa Receives Managements of NIMC, Fed. Fire Service, Says We’re Partners in Progress

Ondo state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said his administration has been repositioned to partner with agencies of the federal government for the development of the state and the country at large.
The governor made the statement while receiving the managements of the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) and the Federal Fire Service, at different times, in Akure on Thursday.
Represented by his deputy, Olayide Adelami, the governor said “we must go into meaningful collaboration to promote inclusive development, either with public or private agencies”
Speaking with the NIMC team from the southwest regional office, covering Ondo and Ekiti states, the governor emphasized the importance of data in planning for government programs, projects and policies in every sector.
He lauded the NIMC for its new initiatives aimed at making life better for Nigerians.
“The news of the introduction of the e-id card is encouraging, as it will help to solve insecurity and promote financial inclusion. It is also an indication that government agencies are really working. Our government will definitely partner with you in many areas” the governor assured the NIMC management.
Earlier in her remarks, the NIMC regional coordinator for southwest 2, Fumnanya Onadeko, disclosed that the new e-id card will function like bank cards, urging the state government to deploy it for conditional cash transfers.
In a separate meeting with the management of the Federal Fire Service, the governor said the agency is a key part of emergency response services all over the world and must be given the needed support to perform optimally.
Requesting for collaboration, the Controller, Ondo state command of the Federal Fire Service, Adeyemo Martins, asked the state government to come to their aid in the area of infrastructure to enable them service the people of the state efficiently.
