HAJJ 2022: NAHCON’s Madinah Coordinator Addresses National Media Team.

Alhaji Ibrahim Idris Mahmud, the Madinah Coordinator for NAHCON briefed the national
media team on Hajj 2022 on the activities and conditions of pilgrims in Madinah.
The coordinator said over twelve thousand pilgrims have been airlifted so far in 27
flights, various committees are on ground to give adequate support to all pilgrims.
He urged pilgrims to be law abiding and be ambassadors of Nigeria as they perform their act of worship.

In a related development, Dr. Hamidu Mohammed Liman, the head of medical mission
explained what is expected of pilgrims on arrival in order to avoid fatigue, stress and
other health challenges.

Dr. Hamidu Liman advised pilgrims to be fit ahead of the tedious hajj exercise. Pilgrims
are to dress appropriately in protective gears, i.e umbrella, hat e.t.c. due to the intensity of the weather
Pilgrims were also advised to eat good food, avoid consuming left-over food and take enough rest. Avoid aimless outing due to the intensity of the weather and to drink a lot of water to avoid dehydration. The consumption cold water should also be in moderation to avoid upper respiratory tract diseases.

Responding to questions, the head of medical mission stated that amongst the issues experieced so far is a psychological problem by unaccompanied pilgrims which he said
is associated with uncontrolled drugs, fright and so on.
