Health: 98% Of Nigerians Are HIV Negative – DG, NACA

The Director-General of National Agency for the Control of AIDS(NACA), Dr. Temitope Ilori, says 98% of Nigerians are HIV negative.
Ilori was speaking at the two-day national training of media personnel on Lenacapavir (LEN) PrEP, in partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO) advocate the use of various HIV prevention drugs to further curb the spread of HIV.
She emphasized that Nigerians needs an accurate information to make informed decisions.
The training focused on a ground-breaking and long-lasting HIV prevention innovation, Lenacapavir (LEN).
Lenacapavir is the latest innovation to further prevent the spread of HIV. It is a medication given twice a year(every 6 months) as an injection or in combination with pills.
HIV treatment is free at all government-owned health facilities and designated clinics across Nigeria.
