Ondo 2020: Omogunwa Denies Dumping APC For ZLP, Says Report Baseless Falsehood
Daily Metro News NG
The Senator who represented Ondo South Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, Sen. Yele Omogunwa, has described the news of dumping the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) as a blatant lie.
Omogunwa in a statement personally signed and made available to newsmen, faulted the story reported by an online medium that he has dumped the ruling party.
According to Omogunwa, the story is a baseless falsehood and a figment of the imagination of the reporter or whoever allegedly confirmed it.
The statement issued unedited:
RE: SENATOR YELE OMOGUNWA REPORTEDLY DUMPS APC FOR ZLP
I read with utter dismay and disbelieve, the story by an online news medium, starnews.com, claiming that I, Senator Yele Omogunwa, has dumped the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).
There is nothing that can be farther from the truth, as the story is a baseless falsehood and a figment of the imagination of the reporter or whoever alledgedly confirmed it.
I want to state without equivocation and any iota of doubt, that I, Senator Yele Omogunwa, remains a member of the APC, as there is no where I have said that to anyone or do anything suggesting my moving out of the APC.
This is nothing but a cheap blackmail to cause disaffection among my teeming supporters in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State and across the state in general.
It is not uncommon for stories of this nature to fly around in a season like this.
Let me reiterate that my zeal for the APC and unwavering love for the wellbeing of the people of Ondo South Senatorial District and the state at large remains unshakable.
Senator Yele Omogunwa
Member, 8th Senate of the National Assembly
