The Governor Edo State, Mr Godwin Obaseki, who has just won his reelection for a second term of 4 year as governor of the state has forestalled the possibility of him returning to the All Progressives Congress (APC) any time soon.

Obaseki, gave this hint while speaking to State House Correspondents after meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja noted that such a move now would negatively affect his credibility and the trust bestowed on him by his people.

Obaseki said he was only at the State House on an thank you visit to the President, following the credibility of last weekend’s governorship election in the state, which he won.

Recall that the governor dumped the APC for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he was disqualified by the party’s screening committee to contest the gubernatorial primaries.

Responding to questions from State House correspondents after meeting with President Buhari, he affirmed that leaving the PDP for the APC goes against Buhari’s gospel of integrity.

He also reassured his people that he would never attempt to replace his predecessor and former APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, as the new godfather in Edo politics, saying that if he does, “I should be dealt with accordingly.”
