As the world mark the 2022 Hepatitis day, a UK-based medical specialist, Dr. Felix Kehinde, has advised the Nigerian government to take urgent actions in stemming the tide of the disease.

Speaking on Adaba FM Akure breakfast show on Thursday, Dr. Kehinde said government must rework its policies to meet up with the World Health Organization (WHO) target of ending Hepatitis by year 2030. He reiterated that access to quality and Universal Healthcare would be a major step in this direction.

Dr. Kehinde, who is the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) House Representatives candidate for Ondo East/West federal constituency of Ondo state, took time to sensitize Nigerians on the need to take preventive measures against contracting the disease. He listed unprotected sex, sharing of needles and razors as major causes and advised the people to avoid these and get vaccinated.

In a video cited on his official Facebook page, the internationally trained medical doctor, outstanding philanthropist and community leader, who spoke both in English and native Ondo languages was seen urging the people to support policies and initiatives that will bring quality healthcare close to them.
