Dr. Nafisat Makinde, Abuja

Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike on Monday said major road and infrastructure projects across Abuja would be commissioned in June ahead of President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.
The projects include the Renewed Hope City Access Road in Karsana District, the Old Keffi Road rehabilitation project and the FCT Highway 105 linking Airport Road to Kuje.
Wike also inspected the Kuje-Gwagwalada Road Phase 1 project and the Abuja City Gate remodeling project during the tour.
Deputy Director of Press in the Office of the FCT Minister, Rabi Musa Umar, said in a statement that the minister expressed satisfaction with the progress of work across the project sites.
According to Wike, the access road to the Renewed Hope City housing project in Karsana is about 98% completed and will improve access to affordable housing units within the Federal Capital Territory.
He also said the rehabilitation of the 17-kilometer Old Keffi Road stretching from Kado Village and Life Camp Junction to the Dei-Dei axis had been cleared for commissioning.
The minister said the projects are expected to improve traffic flow and access between satellite communities and the city center. He added that the Abuja City Gate remodeling project is expected to be handed over in early June.
