Breaking: Hon. Akinribido’s Indefinite Suspension, Illegal And Against The Law, Ondo Court Rules

An Ondo State High Court in Akure, the state capital has declared the indefinite suspension of Hon. Tomide Akinribido representing Ondo West Constituency 2 in the state assembly as null and void.

In a judgement delivered by Justice Ademola Bola, ruled that the Ondo State House of Assembly acted arbitrarily by exceeding its power and can only suspend for one day/plenary sitting.

Recall that Hon. Akinribido was suspended for breach of the house rule which is unconnected with his refusal to sign the impeachment notice of the Deputy Governor, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, who later ran for the October 10 governorship election under the platform of Hon. Akinribido’s party, ZLP.
