BREAKING: Like Umahi, Senator Abbo Dumps PDP For APC

The senator representing Adamawa North in the red chamber, Senator Elisha Abbo, has dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Senator Abbo made the announcement of his defection in a letter addressed to the Senate, and read by the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan during Wednesday’s plenary session.

In the letter, Senator Abbo attributed his decision to dump the PDP for APC on the mismanagement of the party in Adamawa state under the leadership of Governor Umaru Fintiri.

Recall, Senator Abbo has been in the news for assaulting a woman in an adult sex toy shop in Abuja last year.

A High Court of the Federal Capital Territory sitting in Maitama, earlier in September, awarded N50 million damages against Senator Abbo, to be paid as compensation to Osimibibra Warmate, a female attendant at a sex-toy shop, whom he assaulted.

Justice Samira Bature gave the order in her judgment on the fundamental rights enforcement suit instituted by Warmate against the senator.

Earlier on July 3, 2019, the lawmaker was caught on camera physically assaulting a woman in Abuja, two months after he allegedly committed the act.
