The leadership of Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) would on Monday unveil Engr. Gboye Adegbenro as the running mate to its governorship candidate and Deputy Governor of the state, HE. Hon Agboola Ajayi on Monday.
The ZLP State Chairman, Hon. Joseph Akinlaja confirmed this to The NATION reporter Sunday night that they will be announcing the name of Gboye Adegbenro as the party’s deputy governorship candidate for the October 10 election.
The chairman said, “Adegbenro would be announced on Monday”.
With the new development, the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, will now have to substitute both the governorship and deputy governorship candidate of the party with Tuesday, August 18 deadline that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has set before all political parties.
Report also have it that, a former Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hon. Yekini Olanipekun, has denied eyeing the ZLP deputy governorship slot, saying that he not a member of the party and definitely would never sought to run under the ZLP platform.
In his words, he said, “I am not part of ZLP. I didn’t lobby and never discussed with anybody that I want to be running mate on ZLP.”
