If You Want To Leave The Party, You Can Go Ahead, Says Cross River PDP Stalwart

A stalwart of the People Democratic Party (PDP) from Calabar South in Cross River State, Mr Cyril Anthony Asuquo (Etete) has told those who are threatening to leave that party to do so if they like but that the party will wax stronger and stronger.

Mr Asuquo, who stated this during a chat with journalists was responding to some aggrieved members who threatened that should there be a change in the delegate list for the postponed PDP state congress in the state, the party will collapse.

He stated that the state Governor, Sir Ben Ayade remains the governor and leader of the party in the state.

While recalling names of some leaders who had previously left the party from across the three Senatorial districts, but that the party in state remains in tact. He assured that the new leaders of the party and those who believe in the leadership of the governor will take the PDP in the state to the next level.

He said, “For me Ayade is the governor of the state and leader of the party take it or you leave it. If you say you want to leave the party, you can go ahead. But go and find out from those who left before. Our party is still in tact.

“Former Governor, Mr Donald Duke left, former state chairman, Mr Ekpo Okon left, Sen John Owan Enoh former Senator left, the party is still there. Well you can go to the North and find out from the present Minister. He was in the party and he left but party is still here.

“You are there saying you want to leave the party, go ahead, leave the party for us, leave the party for Ayade.

“I promise you guys that we will take PDP to the next level. We are with Ayade till tomorrow. The entire State House of Assembly members are with Ayade. So Ayade is not shaking. We are on ground. Fully in ground.”
