Irele Bank Robbery: Hon. Gboluga Visit Victims, Urges Gov’t To Own Up Their Primary Responsibilities

The lawmaker representing Okitipupa/Irele Federal Consistency at the National Assembly, Hon. Gboluga Dele Ikengboju, has called on government and security agencies to live up to their primary responsibility of protecting lives and property.

The renowned pharmacist made the call when he visited the scene of robbery attack on Union Bank, Irele on Friday, 27th November, 2020, a day after the incident.

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the just conducted Ondo governorship election condemned the actions of the robbers, lamenting the abysmal state of security in the country even as he called for urgent improvement in the state’s security architecture.

Gboluga said, “It is unfortunate that our people can no longer sleep with their two eyes closed at their homes.

“Those going about their legitimate businesses can no longer do it in peace for the fear of hoodlums attack and armed robbery.

“This is the sad situation we have found ourselves in this country and seriously, we cannot continue like this. Our people deserves the best,” he concluded.

While condoling with the management of the Union Bank, the people of Irele and others affected, Gboluga prayed that the perpetrators of the evil deed be apprehended and brought to book.

The lawmaker who also visited those that sustained various gunshot injuries as a result of the attack called for more vigilance among the citizens.
