The Nigeria Senate has call on President Muhammadu Buhari to as a matter of urgency address the nation in a bid to calm the rising agitation by Nigerian youths protesting against the atrocities committed by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) unit of the Police force.

This was the resolution reached by the red chamber sequel to a motion moved by Ekiti South Senator, Biodun Olujimi and jointly sponsored by all Senators on the ongoing nationwide protests now believed to have been hijacked by hoodlums and mischievous forces to cause mayhem in the country.

The Senate appealed to the #EndSARS protesters to stop their protests in order to enable the federal government to commence action geared towards meeting their demands.

They also called on the police to protect the protesters from attacks from persons believed to be hoodlums.

In his contribution, Senator Adamu Aliero, Kebbi Central, while seconding the motion, urged the Federal Government to dialogue with the #EndSARS protesters to stop the protests.

Aliero however advised the Federal Government to use every means at its disposal to quell the protests if dialogue fails to achieve the desired results.
