Ondo 2020: Agboola Cleared By ZLP NEC To Contest On Its Platform

The National Executive Committee of Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, has cleared Ondo Deputy Governor, HE, Hon. Agboola Ajayi, to contest the October 10, 2020 governorship election under the party.
Hon. Ajayi who resigned from the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC) in June, joined the main oppositions Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, where he contested the primaries of the party in July but lost the election to its 2016 candidate, Eyitayo Jegede, SAN.
Agboola has met with former Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko for talks on running under the ZLP.
ZLP NEC met at the weekend to consider the application of Agboola, and it was eventually approved.
Ondo ZLP Chairman and former federal lawmaker, Hon. Joseph Akinlaja confirmed the clearance of Agboola in a telephone conversation with Daily Metro News NG.
Hon. Akinlaja said “the Deputy Governor will make a former declaration for the party soon but on his approval to run on the ZLP platform yes, he will be our candidate in the next governorship election”.
He added that the ZLP was determined to winning the governorship election in October.
