Akingboye who was speaking on Thursday, 10th October, 2020 at the Ondo South PDP Stakeholders’ meeting urged all aggrieved party members to shun their differences in the interest of the party, so as to record victory at the October 10 contest.
While cautioning party leaders to restrain from treating as second citizens those who have invested heavily in ensuring that the party progresses , Akingboye noted that the primaries had come and gone and it is time to come together to win.
Otunba Bamidele Akingboye embraced PDP Dep. Governorship Candidate, Hon. Gboluga Ikengboju
He said, “It is incontrovertible that we all had different interests at the primaries but it is not enough to sideline others after the primaries because we didn’t support Jegede
“This party belongs to us all and we must move beyond holding grudges against those who supported other candidates in the primaries.
“I have contested several times under the PDP even though it didn’t go my way, I have remained consistent and loyal to my party.
“May I assure you that I am prepared to put in all my energy and resources into ensuring that Jegede and Gboluga wins the next election!”
Akingboye also cleared the air on the wrong impression that he has left the party, noted it is figment of imagination from his detractors who are envious of intimidating profiles, thereby trying to shortchange and push him against the leadership of the PDP.
