The Ondo State University Medical Sciences Teaching Hospital (UNIMEDTH), Resident Doctors at Akure, have appealed to Ondo State Governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN to pay their salary arrears.
The Precision NG report that the Doctors made the appeal Monday morning in Akure while protesting the four months salaries being owed them by the state government.
The Doctors had since commenced a warning strike to press home their demands.
Earlier today, the Doctors marched to the office of the Physician In Charge, Dr Adesina Akintan threatening to embark on an indefinite strike next week Monday.
Dr Taiwo Olagbe who addressed newsmen on behalf of the Doctors called on well meaning Nigerians to prevail on the state government to settle their unpaid salaries.
They decried a situation where other health workers under the Health Management Board are receiving salaries regularly while theirs are not paid.
Dr Akintan while addressing them said government was doing everything to ensure that “your salary is moved into the mainstream system”. He appealed to them to go back to work.
