The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has tested positive for corona virus.

This was contained in an announcement made public by the state commissioner for health, Prof. Akin Abayomi Saturday evening.

Recall that Sanwo-Olu had gone into self-isolation on Friday after one of his close aide tested positive to the virus.

Prof. Abayomi said the Governor was experiencing “mild symptoms and fatigue typical of a mild case of COVID-19.”

In his statement, Abayomi reported that the Governor is receiving treatment and is being closely monitored at home by a clinical team from the Infectious Disease Hospital in Yaba.

“Mr. Sanwo-Olu is doing well on treatment and rest and we are confident that he will recover quickly and clear the virus,” the statement said.
